Opened in the new Rookery shopping precinct on 25th July 1974, when the area now occupied by phase two of the precinct was a large car park. Must be the shortest lived pub in Newmarket, since it was gutted by fire on Good Friday (26th March) 1989. The site is now (2019) occupied by the Cambridge Building Society and VPZ's
